After 7 years at Uber as Staff Engineer and the lead of global edge infrastructure, Dylan has started ANDYL to shape and optimize mobile networking for billions of mobile users worldwide.

Dylan started his career at Uber in 2016, where he began as a mid-level software engineer and subsequently dropped out of UIUC after his Sophomore year. He joined colleagues from Google and Facebook to create a new edge infrastructure team at Uber.

In under 3½ years, Dylan became the lead of global edge infrastructure at Uber, and was also an early member of Uber's elite engineering disaster response team, dubbed Ring0. He's led company-wide outage responses across engineering, comms, ops, and executive-level teams, countered international network tampering and large-scale DDoS attacks, and managed network performance and uptime for all of Uber's apps and websites across 100s of millions of users.

Bill leads a distinguished 25+ year career as a senior staff engineer at Facebook, Uber, Yahoo, OpenDNS, Powerset, and Chronosphere. He specializes in developing large-scale infrastructure across networking, security, compilers, and site performance management domains.

Along with his early experience leading network and security projects at Yahoo, Bill was also a contributor to FreeBSD for 9 years and was one of the project's root administrators. He later became the Director of Network Operations at Powerset (later acquired by Microsoft). After the acquisition, he left to lead network engineering at OpenDNS (later acquired by Cisco).

At Facebook, Bill worked on a variety of site performance initiatives targeting server-side efficiencies and improving end-user latencies. His work led to a role within the company's Programming Languages and Runtime HHVM team, working on the foundational piece of Facebook's Hack language that powers the site.

After joining Uber in 2015, he founded the Frontend & Edge Team to focus on mobile application performance and adoption of novel network technologies, and was one of the founding members of the rapid response Ring0 outage mitigation team.
